Mariah asks:
Was Jesus born in a stable?

Denny answers:
Yes, Jesus was born in a stable.
Luke 2:6 tells us that Jesus was placed “in a manger, because there was no room…in the inn.” A manger is a place in a stable that holds the food cattle and horses eat. Jesus was not embarrassed to be born in a dirty, stinky stable. God could have chosen a fancy palace or a nice, clean house for Jesus to be born, but He knew that the stable was the perfect place for Jesus. God’s ways are not like our ways. Jesus lived a simple and ordinary life, but He will forever reign as the true King of the entire universe. He was born in a stable to show us that He came for everyone, not just the rich or famous people.
Bible Truth
- “While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn” (Luke 2:6-7).
- "But the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord" (Luke 2:10-11).
- "Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners – of whom I am the worst" (1 Timothy 1:15).
