Going to Church

Justin asks:

What happens to people who don't go to church?
Denny answers:

They miss out on praising and learning about God with other believers.

God wants us to go to church to be with other Christians, to learn about Him, and to praise Him. The people who don’t go to church miss out on a very special time with other people and with God.

Some people think that just because they go to church, they will go to heaven. That’s not true! Going to church will not get anyone into heaven, and skipping church won’t stop anyone from getting into heaven. The only way we can go to heaven is by trusting and following Jesus, who died to take the punishment for sinners. To learn about the true path to Heaven - click here.

Bible Truth
  • “You should not stay away from the church meetings, as some are doing, but you should meet together and encourage each other. Do this even more as you see the day coming” (Hebrews 10:25, NCV).

  • “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:8-10).

  • “So do not let anyone make rules for you about eating and drinking or about a religious feast, a New Moon Festival, or a Sabbath day. These things were like a shadow of what was to come. But what is true and real has come and is found in Christ” (Colossians 2:16-17, NCV).
