Denny answers:
Those who reject God and His way of forgiveness (Jesus) must go to hell.
Hell is where God will punish Satan and all the people who follow Satan. Most people don't think they follow Satan, but following Satan means going your own way, disobeying and dishonoring God. That is sin. The Bible says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
We all deserve hell because of our sins. But God made a way to forgive sinners. He sent Jesus to die on the cross to take the pain and punishment sinners deserve. If we trust Jesus, God takes us to heaven when we die. But those who reject God's way must be separated in hell forever from the holy, perfect God.
Bible Truth
- "Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life" (Matthew 25:46).
- "If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire" (Revelation 20:15).
- "But God shows his great love for us in this way: Christ died for us while we were still sinners. So through Christ we will surely be saved from God's anger, because we have been made right with God by the blood of Christ's death" (Romans 5:8-9, NCV).
