Justin asks:
Why do we have the Bible?
|
 |
Denny answers: God gave us the Bible to tell us about Himself and His plan for us.
The Bible is God's book for us. Every Word came from God, so it is perfectly true. We can read it at church, at home, or even with our friends. The Bible shows us who God is and who He wants us to be. It tells us how to live and please God. The Bible reminds us of God's love for us and His plan for our lives. Reading the Bible changes our mind and our thinking, because God has made it powerful like Himself. We should not just read the Bible but also obey its teaching.
Bible Truth
- "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says" (James 1:22).
- "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
- "For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12).
