Why can't kids vote?

Here's the answer:

Voting is a big responsibility. Most kids are not mature enough to understand all the issues that need to be voted on.

When we are born, we begin the process of growing and learning. We learn how to walk and talk. We learn how to read. Learning takes time, and so does understanding how the world works. The voting process requires that people understand what they are voting on, and why they are choosing to vote one way or another. Children haven't learned enough about the world yet to be able to vote wisely.

Voting is an important part of life as a responsible grown-up citizen, and it is something you can look forward to! Once you are old enough, make sure you register to vote. When election time comes, do your best to understand all the issues, then pray and ask God how He wants you to vote.

Bible Truth

"God has breathed life into all of Scripture. It is useful for teaching us what is true. It is useful for correcting our mistakes. It is useful for making our lives whole again. It is useful for training us to do what is right" (2 Timothy 3:16).

"Above all, here is what you must understand. No prophecy in Scripture ever came from a prophet’s own understanding. It never came simply because a prophet wanted it to. Instead, the Holy Spirit guided the prophets as they spoke. So prophecy comes from God" (2 Peter 1:20–21).
