Should Christians have Tattoos and Piercings?

Here's the answer:

Our bodies belong to God, so we want to honor Him with our bodies.

God told the Jews to not cut their bodies or tattoo them. The warning against tattoos and piercings in Leviticus 19:28 was given to the Jews so that they would not copy what other religions were doing. These pagan religions used tattoos and piercings in their worship of false gods. While this verse doesn’t directly apply to us, it can teach us a lesson. God wants us to be set apart for Him.

When you get older, can you get a tattoo or piercing? That’s between you and God. When you are an adult, you can ask God if that will be a good choice.

The Bible says that your body belongs to God. "Don’t you know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit? The Spirit is in you, and you have received the Spirit from God. You do not belong to yourselves. Christ has paid the price for you. So use your bodies in a way that honors God" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Some of the tattoos people get don't honor God, so pray and ask God whether your tattoo or piercing will honor Him.

Remember, your body belongs to God so you should make this decision together.
