Why does my family have a Christmas tree?
Here's the answer:

Your family has a Christmas tree because it is a fun, traditional part of celebrating Christmas.
Christmas trees are part of decorating and celebrating Christmas. Some people like to argue against Christmas trees, but there is nothing wrong with having one. Christmas trees can help remind us of the reason for the season—Jesus—with their ornaments, lights, and a star or angel on top, like the star the wisemen followed and the angels who announced His birth. In truth, Jesus is the sole focus of Christmas and the reason we have this holiday. For this reason, there is nothing wrong with having a Christmas tree.
There is no substantial evidence to say Christmas trees were used in pagan, or non-Christian, worship. Christmas has been falsely connected to the Roman holiday, Saturnalia, but there is no evidence for this connection. When a person decorates a Christmas tree, it is for the purpose of celebrating Christmas with a heart of joy. However, if a person doesn’t want to decorate with a Christmas tree, they don’t have to.
Put simply, a person is not in the right for having a Christmas tree, and a person is not in the wrong for not having one. If you are not sure of whether you want to have a Christmas tree or not, bring it before the Lord. He will be able to answer any questions that you have, and He will help guide your steps.

Bible Truth
"One person considers one day to be more holy than another. Another person thinks all days are the same. Each of them should be absolutely sure in their own mind. Whoever thinks that one day is special does so to honor the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to honor the Lord. They give thanks to God. And whoever doesn’t eat meat does so to honor the Lord. They also give thanks to God" (Romans 14:5–6).
"So eat and drink and do everything else for the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31).
"Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you. He is the Messiah, the Lord" (Luke 2:11).
