Does God need us?

Here's the answer:

God doesn’t need anything.

God is the source of everything that’s good, so there’s nothing He requires to be content. God needs nothing. God lacks for nothing. God created the world so He could enjoy it, but He doesn’t need the world or any of the people in it.

And yet, as we read the Bible, we see that He loves each of us very much and wants to have a relationship with us. He draws us to Him with gentle words of love and tenderness. God loves us so much that even though we are all sinners, He decided to send His own Son, Jesus, to pay the penalty for our sin. Because of this sacrifice, anyone who believes in Jesus can have a close relationship with God the Father. Believers become a part of His family, and will one day live with Him in heaven forever.

How wonderful our God is! We were created for Him, but we seem to be the ones who benefit most from the love relationship that exists between God and His people.

Those who dedicate their lives to knowing God, loving God, and serving God are the happiest people in the world. God can satisfy us in ways that money, fame, power, or relationships with others cannot. If you don't have a personal relationship with God yet, click here.
