Is it okay for me to have a boyfriend/girlfriend at my age?

Here's the answer:

This is a decision you should only make with the help of God and your parents.

Ask yourself, "Would Jesus want me to have a boyfriend/girlfriend at my age?" He loves you more than anyone in the world, and wants the very best for you. He probably wouldn’t choose for you to have more than a simple friendship at your age with anyone of the opposite sex in order to protect you from making mistakes you would be sorry for later.

Another question to ask yourself is, "Would my parents approve?" God has given you parents to be your highest authority next to God. God commands, "Children, obey your parents as believers in the Lord. Obey them because it’s the right thing to do" (Ephesians 6:1). If your parents love Jesus, they want His will for you, because they also love you and want your best.

As a child, God wants you to enjoy this time in your life. Today, children are being encouraged to grow up too fast, and that isn’t good or healthy. Ask God to help you make wise decisions. You can talk to Him anytime, anywhere, about anything. Make Jesus your very best Friend, because He will always be there for you.

God knows you have a need to "belong." He wants you to consider what Jesus Christ, (His only perfect Son) did for you when He died on the cross to pay the penalty for the sins of the world. He invites you to receive Him as your own personal Savior and Lord. Then you will belong to His forever family, making you feel loved and accepted for who you are. And you will receive His free gift of eternal life. A relationship with the Son of the living God...what could be better than that? For more about this, click here.
