Who was Rebekah in the Bible?

Here's the answer:

Rebekah is the wife of Isaac. She is also the mom of Esau and Jacob.

Rebekah is first seen in the Bible after Abraham wants to get his son Isaac a wife. Abraham specifically says he doesn’t want Isaac to marry a Canaanite woman. He sends his servant to the city of Nahor to find a wife for Isaac and he discovers Rebekah after much praying (Genesis 24:10-28). Abraham’s servant returns with Rebekah, and Rebekah and Isaac are married (Genesis 24:67).

For a while, Rebekah couldn’t have children. Isaac prayed for Rebekah and she soon was pregnant. She had a dream that the two babies in her womb were fighting. She asked God why they were fighting and He told her both of the babies would become mighty nations who were going to be at odds with each other (Genesis 25:22-23). Rebekah gave birth to twins named Esau and Isaac (Genesis 25:24).

Her prophecy came true. Jacob became Israel and the nation under him was the Israelites. Esau was the father of the Edomites. The Edomites were destroyed in battles (Obadiah 1:1-21), but Israel still remains.

Sadly, Rebekah and her husband, Isaac, had favorites and this resulted in them being even more at odds with each other. Nobody should have favorites. God loves all people equally.

There were twin boys in her body" (Genesis 25:22-24).
