Why do people reject Jesus?

Here's the answer:

There are many reasons why people reject Jesus and all of them have eternal consequences.

People reject Jesus because they think they don’t need Him. They believe they can be their own “savior.” Due to believing they are “good enough” to go to heaven, they never accept Jesus. This is not right. Only by accepting Jesus as your Savior can you be saved. Nobody is “good enough” to go to heaven (Romans 3:23).

Some people think if they accept Jesus, people will make fun of them or leave them out. These people are more focused on what other people think of them than what God thinks of them.

Many people are more concerned with material things rather than accepting Christ. They would rather have expensive items, a new house, or a new car than focus on Jesus. God tells us we should not love anything in the world (1 John 2:15). Instead, we should love God. We can do this by accepting Jesus.

"You stubborn people! You won’t obey! You won’t listen! You are just like your people of long ago! You always oppose the Holy Spirit!" (Acts 7:51).

"These people’s hearts have become stubborn. They can barely hear with their ears. They have closed their eyes..." (Acts 28:27).

"At the same time that Jesus did those signs, many of the Jewish leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees, they would not openly admit they believed. They were afraid they would be thrown out of the synagogue. They loved praise from people more than praise from God" (John 12:42-43).
