Denny answers:
God has no limits, so He never tires or sleeps.
Kids often say, “I’m not tired! I don’t need to take a nap!” But even the kid with the most energy gets tired and must lay down every night to sleep.
But not God! God has no limits. He never gets tired or has to sleep. He does not need air to breathe or food to eat.
If God had to take naps, we wouldn’t be sure if He were listening to our prayer or sleeping! If God got tired, we wouldn’t be sure if He had the strength to answer our prayers.
But no! God is all-powerful (omnipotent), so He can always do what is best. God is also all-wise (omniscient), so He always knows what is best.
When we pray to the all-powerful God, we know He can hear and answer us. We can pray that God does His plan because God is all-wise, so His plan is best.
God is the greatest!
Bible Truth
- “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:28-31).
- “In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded. But you remain the same, and your years will never end” (Psalm 102:25-27).
- “Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you” (Jeremiah 32:17).
