Jesus is the path to eternal life in heaven.
Eternal life means living forever in heaven with God. But every person is a sinner. We do, say, and think wrong things that displease God and break His commands in the Bible. Because of our sin, we deserve to die and go to hell away from God eternally (Romans 6:23). But because God so loved the world, He sent His only Son, Jesus, to make a way for believers to live eternally in heaven (John 3:16).
Although Jesus has always been alive as God the Son, He was born on earth as the perfect God-man. He lived without sin, did miracles, and taught the truth. Jesus took the punishment sinners deserve—death—by dying on the cross. Then Jesus became alive again, showing He has won the victory over sin and death!
Jesus is the only path to heaven. “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me’” (John 14:6).
If you want to follow Jesus, the one way to heaven, you can pray a prayer like the one below. Praying cannot give you eternal life--only God can do that. God can save you by giving you faith in Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9). The prayer is your way of turning in faith to Jesus.
"Dear God, I'm sorry for going my own way and sinning against You. I deserve to die for my sins and be separated forever from You. But I believe Your perfect Son Jesus took the punishment for sin by dying on the cross. Then He rose from the dead, showing Jesus won the victory over sin and death. I now turn from my sin and trust Jesus as my Savior from sin. I will follow the Lord Jesus now!"
