Becca asks:
Why is it wrong to cheat on a test?
|
 |
Denny answers:
Cheating is wrong.
Cheating on a test is a sin because cheating is the same thing as lying. Kids and even adults sometimes lie when they're playing games, telling stories, or trying to get out of trouble. Because God is truth, lying is a sin against God. If you cheat, you are lying to your teacher by pretending that you did work that you didn't really do. Some kids start cheating a few times and then start doing it often. Ask God to help you never cheat. If you have cheated, ask God for forgiveness and admit your wrong to the teacher and your parents.
Bible Truth
- Jesus said, "Unless you are faithful in small matters, you won't be faithful in large ones. If you cheat even a little, you won't be honest with greater responsibilities" (Luke 16:10, NLT).
- "Do not lie to each other. You have left your old sinful life and the things you did before" (Colossians 3:9, NCV).
- "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me'" (John 14:6).
