Is it wrong to take medicine?

Here's the answer:

No, there is nothing wrong with taking medicine when you need to.

Some people think it is bad to take medicine. This is not true. There is nothing wrong with taking medicines. In fact, medicine can save your life. If you are sick with a fever, you can take a fever reducer, or you might have to go to the hospital. In the same way, if you have a cold, you can take cold medicine to feel better.

Luke in the Bible was a beloved doctor (Colossians 4:14). Luke is never called wrong for being a doctor or for practicing medicine. Since the Bible does not say Luke was sinning, we know there is nothing wrong with going to the doctor or taking medicine. The only time it becomes wrong is if we are abusing medicine by taking too much or taking it when we don't need it. You can choose early on not to abuse medicine by checking with an adult about when and how much to take.

As long as you do not take medicine when you are not supposed to and do not take too much, you will not be abusing it. God wants you to take care of your body (1 Corinthians 6:19). This means you need to take medicine when you need it, but not to abuse it.
