WIs it okay to be a vegetarian?

Here's the answer:

Yes, it is okay to be a vegetarian if you choose.

Many people think it is wrong or sinful to be a vegetarian, but this is not true. There is nothing wrong with being a vegetarian. Nowhere in the Bible are we told that being a vegetarian is wrong. The Bible tells us all foods are clean; however, it is your choice to eat meat or not.

Jesus ate meat. The Bible tells us Jesus ate fish and lamb (Luke 22:8–16; 24:42–43). This means it is perfectly okay to eat meat. Whether you want to eat meat or not is perfectly fine. All foods are clean, including meat (Acts 10:10–15).

Mankind was vegetarian before the Flood. After the Flood, God said it was okay to eat meat (Genesis 9:2–3). Never has God taken away this right. In other words, God never says it is wrong to eat meat now. Whether you eat meat or not, do it all to the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31).

If you want to be a vegetarian, great! If not, that's okay, too! The decision is entirely up to you. One way is not better than the other. As you get older, you might change your mind to become a vegetarian or a meat eater, and that will be okay, too. Either way, you are not sinning by eating meat or by not eating meat.

Bible Truth

"The voice spoke to him a second time. It said, 'Do not say anything is not pure that God has made clean'" (Acts 10:15).

"All the land animals will be afraid of you. All the birds in the sky will be afraid of you. Every creature that moves along the ground will be afraid of you. So will every fish in the seas. Every living thing is put under your control. Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. I have already given you the green plants for food. Now I am giving you everything" (Genesis 9:2–3).
