What does it mean to be blessed?
Here's the answer:
Blessed means you have inner joy that is only found in Jesus.
How many times have you heard someone say “Have a blessed day” or “God bless you”? While these sayings are kind, the Bible says the word “blessed” has a deeper meaning. To be blessed means you have the inner joy of knowing Jesus. Only Christians can truly be blessed because we are the only ones who have accepted Him.
Being blessed doesn’t mean you get a lot of cool toys, gadgets, and gizmos. Instead, blessedness is measured by your wellbeing and your joy. You can be blessed in difficult times because God is with you. God being with you is the blessing. You are blessed by knowing Him.
Blessedness causes us to know the joy God gives us through Jesus. From the time you accept Jesus to the time you are with Him forever, you are blessed. Part of being blessed means God never leaves you (Romans 8:35-39). If you have believed in Jesus and accepted Him as your Savior, then you are blessed. If you haven’t believed in Him, you can today!
"Blessed is the person who keeps on going when times are hard. After they have come through hard times, this person will receive a crown. The crown is life itself. The Lord has promised it to those who love him" (James 1:12).
"Blessed are you when people make fun of you and hurt you because of me. You are also blessed when they tell all kinds of evil lies about you because of me. Be joyful and glad. Your reward in heaven is great. In the same way, people hurt the prophets who lived long ago" (Matthew 5:11-12).
"Give praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing. Those blessings come from the heavenly world. They belong to us because we belong to Christ" (Ephesians 1:3).
