Where is God when it hurts?
Here's the answer:
God is with you always, even when life hurts.
We tend to doubt where God is when we are going through a hard time. When we are faced with a hard situation—the loss of a friend or the death of a loved one—it can be easy for us to ask where God is. Jesus Himself questioned where the Father was in the midst of His pain (Matthew 27:46). Since the Father allowed even Jesus to go through this pain, it can cause fear to rise in our hearts that we will be left to go through this pain alone.
Thankfully, God never leaves us. Nothing can separate us from the love God has for us (Romans 8:37–39). Never will God leave us, and never will He forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). It can be tempting to think we are all alone in our pain, but we never are. God is always walking with us through every hill and valley (Psalm 23).
When it hurts, turn to God. He is always by your side, and He isn’t going anywhere. The Lord loves you, and nothing will separate you from His love. Turn to Him and know that He will not leave you alone in your pain. He is standing right beside you, and He will never let go of your hand.
