What is holiness? Can I be holy?

Here's the answer:

Holiness is being set apart by God. You can be holy by believing in Jesus.

God is holy (1 Samuel 2:2). This means that God is 100 percent perfect. There is nobody like God.

Israel, God’s people, were commanded to be holy in Leviticus 11. This was God setting Israel apart from the rest of the world. Likewise, God wants believers today to be holy. We should live differently from those who are unbelievers.

Being set apart means we don’t become like the world. We are part of God’s holy nation (1 Peter 2:9). The first step to holiness is accepting Jesus and His salvation message. After you become a believer, God will work in your life and you will become more holy as you follow Him.
